What’s in the bag:
This month’s goodie bag is giving:
Ginger Root - bc it’s bout to be a spicy summer, in the best way possible, God willing.
Butterfly Pea Flower - a mild, fresh-tasting blue tea from the Clitoria Ternatea plant, native to Thailand and Malaysia. It’s naturally indigo blue when brewed w/ water. Add some lemon and it changes its ph level to create a pretty shade of violet. Tastes amazing over ice!
Cloves - a warming herb traditionally used in hair care and aromatherapy. These aromatic flower buds are native to Indonesia and grown throughout Africa, Jamaica and the West Indies. In Hoodoo, when burned as an incense, cloves ward off gossip and haters and draw in financial wealth. Some man once said “and if they hate, let em hate and watch your money pile up” or something like that.
Amla Berry Powder - Amla, also called Indian gooseberry, is a super fruit rich in vitamin C and antioxidants. It’s been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries as a tonic for overall wellness. It’s used to strengthen hair and also nourishes skin as a facial mask. It’s a little bitter but you can put in smoothies and tea too.
Egyptian Blue Lotus Tea - The Egyptian Blue Lotus Flower aka Blue Water Lily is an aquatic plant native to the Nile River in Egypt, Africa. In traditional culture it’s held in high regard for its medicinal and euphoric nature. Ancient Egyptians considered it a symbol of rebirth bc the petals open w/ the sun in the AM and then close at sunset.
The flower is high in flavonoids like cannabis and is sometimes smoked … like cannabis. It’s also burned as incense or enjoyed as tea for electric relaxation.
Genmaicha Green Tea - Genmaicha tea, sometimes called Popcorn tea, is a caffeinated Japanese green tea made with roasted brown rice. It has a mild, nutty flavor w/ a roasted grain aroma. Prices are cheaper than a cup at your favorite tea shop. IJS, do it yourself.
